Strip search row: TT player’s mother lodges complaint against lady IGP
Indore: There’s more to the humiliating strip search of the young national table tennis story. It took a serious turn on Saturday as the girl’s aunt and mother approached the state women’s panel with a formal complaint against the IGP of Indore Police.
The victim’s mother – Chapla Kumar Bhargawa registered a written complaint against the behavior of the owner and staff of the shopping mall and also against the IGP of Indore range – Anuradha Shankar.
According to reports, the tennis player’s mother said the state women commission that the IGP used inappropriate words like: ‘Are your intentions of blackmailing the shopping mall owner?’ She also stated they were informed that her daughter cannot be given any justice under Section 509, who had to undergo mental torture at the mall.
However, Anuradha Shankar has denied the allegations and said she never used such a language anmd somebody must have misguided the girl’s mother.
The chairperson of the state women’s commission Upma Rai said the panel has taken cognizance of the frisking case and is looking into all possibilities and action will be taken against the guilty.
A 15-year-old junior level national table tennis player was forcibly frisked by a woman security guard at the easy Day store located at Malhar mega Mall has stirred Indoreans amid reports of the girl plunging into depression.
Madhya Pradesh Table Tennis management also has flayed the incident by saying, "We condemn the manner in which our junior national-level TT player was frisked. It is very unfortunate that this incident happened.
She approached the women’s commission with a written against Anuradha Shankar and the mall’s owner.
