Indore: In a bizarrely humane incident, buyer of a married woman restored her to her parents after he learnt that her husband had cheated him.
The Indore- based woman was drugged and sold for Rs 1.10 lakh by her husband Sanjay and in-laws to businessman Ram Singh in a village near Susner a month ago.
The woman on Friday lodged a case with the State Women Commission and also reported the matter to the police.
The victim said she was harassed by her in-laws for dowry. They drugged her a month ago. When she woke up in the evening, she found herself in an unfamiliar shanty in a deep forest.
"My husband and in-laws used to harass me every day. One morning my husband offered me a cup of tea. I became unconscious after having that tea. The effect is still there as I don't remember things and my body still feels numb," said the victim.
In the shanty, Ram Singh allegedly raped her every day and insisted her to marry him.
"I told him that I was married and have two children. But he said that the person (my husband) who sold me said that I was unmarried. He asked me to marry him," she said. After almost a month's pleading, Ram Singh called up the woman's uncle who raised her and her three sisters.
"He called up my uncle and returned me to him," she said.
The woman's uncle, Dinesh Verma, told DNA that he received a call from Ram Singh who narrated the entire incident to him and asked to take his niece back.
"It was in some forest area and the police refused to go along with me. So I went alone to get my daughter back," he said.
The woman and her uncle have also alleged that both the children were abducted by his in-laws and were released yesterday.
State women's Commission member Snehalata Upadhyay said that the commission has registered the case and will be helping the woman get justice. She is presently in depression.
The woman is not able to recover from the incident. This incident has totally left her in depression. The person who bought the married woman turned to be her saviour by returning her to her uncle.
