Bhopal/Indore: An Indore-based IT company —Clear Trail—has come under the scanner following the WikiLeaks spy files revelation about industries selling sophisticated spying and tracking tools across the globe. The ClearTrail Technologies Pvt Ltd is located in Industry House, Indore.
Neither Central nor state intelligence was aware about existence of such a company before its name surfaced in WikiLeaks spy files last week.
Wikileaks has released over 287 files documenting activities of the international mass surveillance industries, selling equipment to dictators and democracies alike in order to intercept populations.
When contacted IGP (Indore) Anuradha Shankar confirmed that investigation is on in connection with the ClearTrail. "It's something new for us. Action would be taken in case any unauthorized sale of spying tools is detected" she said.
The company insiders, however, claim that they deal with government agencies only. " The mTrail" is one of the off-the-air-interception tools devised by ClearTrail for mobile interception, the company claims.
The new mTrail is geared with powerful technology that leaves no foot prints while intercepting communication. It's portable, easy to deploy and makes it easier to intercept and analyse mobile communications.
The ComTrail is another product of ClearTrail which is devised for mass monitoring of IP and voice networks. It is equipped to handle millions of communications per day intercepted over high speed STM& Ethernet links. It doubles up as targeted monitoring system, speaker recognition, target location and instant analysis across thousands of terabytes.
