Raipur: Puja Thakur etched her name in history by becoming the first girl from Dantewada to clear UPSC.
She is one of the few students who have made it to the civil service from Dantewada.
Daughter of a lawyer, Puja always wanted to be an IAS officer.
She studied in Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Dantewada and later did her 12th from Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Bilaspur. She did BE in Information Technology from Government Engineering College, Raipur.
She could not clear the written exam in the first attempt. Although, she cleared the written exam in the second and the third attempt, but, she could not clear her interview.
At last, she cleared the UPSC in her fourth attempt.
Puja said, although she was disappointed when she failed in her first attempt but she always knew that she would clear the UPSC one day.
She gave her written exam in Cuttack in October 2010 and appeared for the interview on April 27.
