Right to education scheme
The state government had taken several strong steps for implementation of the right to education in 2010. Education department devised a new law under which no school can charge capitation fee from students of the age group 6 to 14. If they do so, they will have to pay a fine of ten times the amount of fee.
Schools are not even allowed to take a screening test of students before admission to the schools. Higher authorities claim that they ensure that every child gets admission without a test. If the schools are found taking a test they will have to pay a fine of Rs 25,000.
