Hafiz Saeed orchestrated killing of Indian soldiers?
New Delhi: Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed mastermind the brutal killing of Indian soldiers on LoC, an Intelligence report claimed on Thursday.
The Mumbai terror accused was camping near LoC bordering Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir a week before Tuesday, when the barbaric incident shook every Indian.
Saeed is wanted in India for several acts of terror, including the 26/11 attack by 10 Pakistani gunmen in Mumbai that left 174 people dead. While India has maintained that Saeed was behind the terror attack, the latter has denied the charge. Even Pakistan has expressed its inability to prosecute Saeed, citing lack of “credible” evidence.
According to reports, Saeed incited the Pakistani soldiers to fire on BSF jawans as part of his plans to begin jihad in Kashmir.
India has asked Pakistan to probe the ‘barbaric’ incident.
Reacting sharply against the ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army that killed three Indian soldiers, the Defense Ministry has said that the act was “provocative” and the matter would be taken up to the Pakistan government.
The third body of a mutilated Indian soldier was found on Wednesday. Sources said the soldiers of Baloch battalion were behind this heinous incident.
Former Pakistan Army General Talat Masood has denied the role of the army in the killing of Indian soldiers. He said "Jihadis like Lashkar-e-Taiba could be behind the attack". He categorically said that the Pakistani army is not backing militants.
