    Srinagar: Kashmir’s only all-girls rock band forced to shun live performances after its member’s received death threats on social networking site. The rock band was getting very popular in the masses as the girls were breaking the social barrier in Muslim-dominated state.

    People were hurling abuses and even threats to rape them or kill them. Terrified young girls decided to remain in low profile. According to a close source who didn’t want to be named, their family members have insisted that the girls shun music for their safety.

    The first girls' band named 'Pragash' was rocking the Kashmir Valley and recently received a standing ovation from the young crowd at the Kashmir Music Festival.

    - Huma, the lead vocalist and guitarist, Aneeka who plays base and Farah, who is the drummer, came together six month ago to form the band and want to pursue their career in music.
