Moral policing: Man stripped and thrashed in full public view! Now girl does a U turn

    Mangalore: This man was going in a vehicle with a female colleague when right-wing activists allegedly waylaid the car. They stripped him to his underwear. He was then tied to an electric pole and brutally thrashed. This all happened at a busy intersection at Babugudde, Attavar on Monday. But, now the girl has changed her statement.
    It is being alleged that she was forced to change her statement later.
    According to reports, she has alleged that she was being harassed by the man and she was in fact rescued by the right wing group. She also alleged that he was blackmailing her saying he had a video clip of her sitting in his car and requested the police to take action against him. She has even lodged a complaint with a women's police station,
    According to reports all over the media on Monday and Tuesday, the victim, 28-year-old Salim (name changed), works at a supermarket located at Attavar. The accused claimed that he was sitting in the car with the girl and they pulled him out of the vehicle.

    According to reports earlier, the girl managed to escape but the boy was tortured by the alleged activists. Police officers had detained four people in the case.

    The victim Salim had filed a report with the police on Monday and alleged the group assaulted him for being in the company of a girl. Salim has denied any illicit relationship with the girl.
