Jaipur: Almost a month after women were banned from carrying mobile phones in a Uttar Pradesh village, a village panchayat in the state issued similar directions for its female members.
According to the recent instruction issued by the panchayat, minor girls of the Kishorpura village under Udaipurwati town of Jhunjhunu district have been banned from using mobile phones. The village council has also banned minor boys from playing music on phones.
Panchayat has also ordered girls to cover their heads and dress decently before going out of homes.
Last month the village council of Asara village of UP's Baghpat district had also directed its girls not to use cell phones and step out of their homes only when accompanied by a male member of the family.
