Jaipur: Wind power company Suzlon has proposed to set up a manufacturing unit for rotor blades used in wind power production machinery in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan. The company's CMD Tulsi R Tanti told chief minister Ashok Gehlot that the proposed unit can generate employment opportunities for over 1,500 people, an official said on Friday.
The unit aims at manufacturing the equipment and machinery, especially rotor blades, used in production of wind power, and can start production from the year 2012-13. In a meeting with Gehlot, Tanti also presented other proposals regarding investment in the non-conventional energy sector in Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner districts. He proposed laying of 400 KVA power transmission lines between Jaisalmer to Bikaner and Jodhpur.
