Jaipur: Following the protocol, the newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC), Jagrup Singh Yadav, met mayor Jyoti Khandelwal at her residence on Monday, before joining the office.
Yadav said he met Khandelwal on Monday and had a detailed discussion on the prevailing sanitary conditions of city and ways to improve it.
The discussion went on for half an hour.
Khandelwal said the CEO met her and discussed steps to be taken to improve sanitary conditions and make the Pink City world-class. She assured him she would extend full cooperation in promoting works in the interest of people.
A source said Yadav is close to MP Mahesh Joshi, and mayor Khandelwal knows it. The mayor had opened a front against Joshi during her tussle with former CEO Loknath Soni. She was in confrontation with Joshi as the two were on good terms.
Later, Soni was removed from the post of CEO due to controversies with Khandelwal and replaced by Jagrup Singh Yadav, said a JMC official.
He said like Soni, Jagrup Singh Yadav, the seventh CEO of the JMC, is also close to Mahesh Joshi. The current assignment will be challenging for him as six CEOs have already been transferred due to issues with Khandelwal. Only time will tell if he would survive in the corporation.
Talking to DNA, the JMC CEO Yadav said, “I had a chat with Khandelwal so that we can coordinate with each other in order to speed up the works of the corporation. The mayor has assured to extend full cooperation in works related to public interests.”
