Jaipur: The much-awaited train Ajmer — Hazrat Nizamuddin Duronto was flagged off from Ajmer by Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Sachin Pilot on Monday.
The new non-AC biweekly service will start from June 1.
According to NWR spokesperson Lalit Bohra, the train will depart from Ajmer at 5.50 am on Friday and Sunday to arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 12.35 p.m. the same day.
While on return journey, the train will depart from Hazrat Nizamuddin at 3.10 pm on every Friday and Sunday to arrive at Ajmer at 9.50 pm the same day.
This biweekly train will consist of one first class Chair Car and twelve second class chair car coaches in both the directions.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion of flagging off, Sachin Pilot said that though there are several trains running between Ajmer and Delhi, a need was felt for this train as they all had several stoppages.
He said that he hoped that this train won’t have these many stoppages and will reduce the travelling time from Ajmer to Delhi. “I have been informed that the fare of the train will also be not too much and will therefore be easy for the passengers to travel in this trains,” said Pilot. The train would be a welcome relief for pilgrims travelling to Ajmer.
