New Delhi: Ten days ago Akbaruddin Owaisi did what he is best at- instigating communal hatred in Indian population to garner support and limelight. In his almost an hour-long speech, made on 24 December 2011, Owaisi spoke derisively of Hindu Gods and Goddesses and the cow.
Calls have been made to take action against Owaisi. Comparison is being drawn with the 2009 hateful speech of Varun Gandhi.
The role of media in effectively reporting the matter has also come under scanner. No media organization has telecasted/published the speech content. The delay in action by the government has prompted many people to raise questions over the double standards.
Prominent personalities from all sections of society have expressed their anguish over Akbaruddin Owaisi remarks.
How can 2 girls be arrested in less than 24 hrs for a harmless FB post but Owaisi roams free after his blatantly communal rant?
Dont understand why the government has not asked Youtube to withdraw Owaisi speech ? Surely, this is what the IT act should be used for, not cartoons.
Communalists like owaisi should be arrested and not be glorified! They spew hatred, divide Indians and insult our nation.
Owaisi is doing a disservice to the people he pretends to serve and represent. Fact is he represents only himself and serves only himself.
Hindu and Muslim communalism r mirror images of each other and must be equally condemned. Owaisi's hate speech must not go unpunished.
Case against Akbar Owaisi for hate speech finally admitted in Andhra court. Should have happened much earlier.
Criminal case filed against Owaisi for hate speech. Inflammatory language needs to be condemned & coerced out of the political lexicon.
Why the media is so silent on Owaisi speech, in case of Varun it was different". Valid question?
Why people listen to him..he is dangerous like cancer..have been ruining the society. Owaisi should be booked..
Owaisi says remove police for 15 mins and he'll kill 100 crore Hindus? Dolt. We haven't had the police for years in Delhi! And we live!
